This section is, of course, my favorite. I have a tremendous list of questions that
are thrown my way. Here a just a few, I will work on adding more as I can find the time.
Many of these questions in the biology realm are answered by some form of Nutraceutical. I will place those links to companies that serve a broader market for natural health.
There is little point in contacting these labs yourself, they won't be able to help you,
other than to suggest that you visit your physician if you think you need a test.
There are some labs that do offer various testing services for consumers. Here are just few of their banners..see which one fits your needs.
Or if these certified labs don't have what you want, get your own test

Are you related? Is he your father? Do you get some of that inheritance? Are you qualified to recieve a grant for your education?
Question 2 : How do I lose weight? Well as a biochemist the only real answer lies in taking in less calories than you burn EVERY day, though some days you can take in a bit more and some days less. Overall, you should take in fewer calories than you burn. I seem to recall a biochemistry class where we discussed the net weight gain of a person who consumed 10 extra calories a day for 1 year. That person would have gained 1 pound of weight over the course of the year because of the extra calories, calories which are not burned.
I always emphasize to my friends and family that the best way to lose weight is to not spend your time thinking about it. The more you think about it more you have to gain..pun intended. What you need is a plan to eat fewer calories every day than your body needs to maintain you in a healthy condition. The reason that this is difficult for most people is that our foods, especially here in the USA are very heavily calorie laden in small quantities of food. So what do we do? We eat more to feel full..we are after all used to feeling full. Unfortunately, by the time you have gotten full you have way overloaded your body's need for calories. As I learned in biochemistry classs..every calorie not burned is stored..and Stored as FAT. So with all that here are some links to ways of eating that satisfy my understanding of weight gain and loss:
THE NEGATIVE CALORIE DIET---PERFECT...I love this plan..if you don't take in calories you burning all day long. No more calorie counting, no more skimping on what eat. Just eat those items that require more energy to consume than they provide to your body as calories...Brilliant.
For those folks, such as myself, over 40 who are trying to lose weight. This guide should be helpful.
This is here, because you are going to HAVE to excercise..might as well save some money in the process.
Got a great bod? Want better abs? I personally would be happy with the bod..but who am I to judge?
Want to build muscle and burn fat?
Another weight loss plan..claims look great...the concept is good..No low calorie diets, no low carb diets, no skimping on what you eat. It is true this method of weight loss is entirely doable.
Question 3: I have OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder) or anxiety/panic attacks how do I treat this problem? Well, here I am no expert or even well versed. Though as a biochemist it is safe to say that the chemicals that are in your body are influencing your mental state. A suitable diet that can counter-act these chemicals or at least reduce their abundance in your body should be helpful. Here are some natural approaches to dealing with these problems.
Question 4 : An age old question, I have lost my hair how do I grow it back. Well, biochemically speaking there are a number of reasons why this can occur. Typically, your body is making too much DHT (di-hydrotestroterone) and this is causing your hair follicles to narrow and ultimately the pores to plug. This results in thinner hair and eventually no hair growing from those once active follicles. There are several treatments, I prefer to shave my head but that is just one solution, some foods are rich in precursors to DHT and can be avoided. Here is one natural solution to counter-act this molecule.

Question 5:Where can I find some books on biology? I like to buy my books at a discount, that typically means used. Here is a link for you to try.
Question 6: My Child has Asperger's Syndrome..how can I help? Well, I am certainly not an expert on Asperger's syndrome but I do know that you first have to establish that Asperger's is what you are dealing with, once you know that you are addressing Asperger's and not Autism then you should consider a well trained clinicial psychologist with expertise in these matters.
